Getting There

(Thanks to the Bendigo Tourism website)

  • It was originally a poppet head for one of Bendigo’s richest mines, the Garden Gully United Mine.

  • Prior to the poppet head’s installation, a flag used to be flown to tell the rest of Bendigo that the mail had arrived.

  • At the foot of the poppet head lookout you’ll find the Bendigo Heritage Mosaic. The artist, Maery Garbriel designed the mosaic which was completed in 1987.
